Bio/Description

Biography

 

Maura Fennessy joined the Office of State Affairs in 2008.  She is responsible for state legislative, regulatory and policy strategy on issues including higher education, labor and employment, construction and land use, energy and sustainability, and workforce development.  She also works to connect Princeton’s academic and operational experts with state lawmakers and policymakers to inform best practices in New Jersey.

Before joining the University, Maura worked for over a decade in the land use and housing policy arena, serving as Executive Director of the Office of Smart Growth, and Director of Policy & Planning at the NJ Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency, both within the Department of Community Affairs. Maura began her professional career at the U.S. Department of the Interior as Special Assistant to the Secretary.  A graduate of Georgetown University, Maura received her Masters in Regional and Urban Planning from the London School of Economics.
